Alan got his start in radio while living in Canada at age 12,
he was paid a dollar to recite a poem. By age 15 he was doing
impressions on comedy shows. Later after moving to New York
from Canada he replaced Eddie Cantor for the summer.
In 1944 he got his own show which aired until 1947. Alan was
also a regular on the Jimmy Durante show. In the early 50's Alan
also moved on to Television with his own show. Personally I will
always remember Alan best from his work as Wilbur in "Mr. Ed"
